Mandatory User Information (individual vs corporate)

Before an end-user can complete a trade, financial regulations require Coinify to collect certain information about them. What is required depends on the account type chosen at sign-up: individual or corporate.

Who collects the information

Integration typeWho collects the information
Trade Widget (iframe or SDK)Coinify. The widget guides the end-user through every required step, so there is nothing for you to implement.
Full API IntegrationYou. You submit the information to Coinify's API endpoints listed below, either from direct input in your own UI or from data you have already stored about the end-user.
ℹ️

The rest of this page applies to partners with a Full API Integration. If you use the Trade Widget, you can skip ahead to Trade Quotes →.

Individual users

Individual users submit a series of personal details and then complete KYC identity verification.

The endpoints must be called in the order shown below.

Only if Enhanced Due Diligence is triggered, two further endpoints apply:

Corporate users

Corporate users submit business information and then complete a KYB document review.

Once all of this is submitted, Coinify automatically emails the corporate user a KYB request to upload the necessary documents.

ℹ️

Good to know

  • Country and state are collected at sign-up, not here. The address you submit in these steps is separate from the country (and US state) you provide at sign-up →, which must come from the end-user's direct input.
  • Trading stays blocked until onboarding is complete. An end-user who has signed up but not finished these steps cannot complete a trade.
  • Check where a user stands. Get trader/end-user information → returns the end-user's current data, which is useful for deciding which onboarding step to show next.
